Artist Statement
A native of New Orleans, La., Harris continues to push the envelope exhausting the endless possibilities of photographic imaging and archival documentation. Harris has been shooting and producing videos for a number of years. He specializes in the development of digital archival documentation (audio, video, and photographic).
Harris has also served as Digital Assets Manager for DirectSun
Solar Energy and Technology, which included providing UAV Photography, and Multi Media website content and updates. Harris has also worked with the Louis Armstrong Foundation, Inc. of New Orleans, LA, where he helped to develop a comprehensive multimedia digital archives department designed to document and archive the rich cultural jazz legacy of New Orleans as well as archive the evolution of the jazz cultural art form in the seat of the Confederacy through a joint partnership between the Louis Armstrong Foundation, Inc. and Music South Corporation in Atlanta, Ga.
Additionally, Harris has partnered with both the Gwinnett Arts Council and the Fulton County Arts Council to develop creative multimedia programs for young people throughout the Greater Metropolitan Atlanta community. Harris has also assisted The Boys and Girls Club of Metropolitan Atlanta with archival documentation of various events that featured youth who were talented and gifted in the arts.
After successfully completing an intensive internship with Georgia Public Broadcasting Harris current projects consist of travel and the production of a series of documentaries that tell compelling stories of independent artists and artisians from around the globe. In addition to capturing images, and documenting events for archival research, Harris also assists with behind the scenes Unit Still Photography for various productions.
